CAS Full Text Options In-house Link OpenURL 1.0 Format Description
This information applies only to those who select "OpenURL 1.0" for the In-house Link URL format option. CAS Full Text Options supports "OpenURL 1.0" as described in the San Antonio Level 1 Community Profile (SAP1), Appendix C, of The OpenURL Framework for Context-Sensitive Services, ANSI/NISO Z39.88-2004 (R2010).

    The Referrer Identifier parameter (rfr_id) will contain one of the following values, consisting of the vendor and database name, depending on how CAS Full Text Options is being used:

    • CAS:< database_name >
    • STN:< database_name >

    The Private Identifier (PID) field will optionally be present. The PID will include non-standard data, that is, data that does not conform to the OpenURL 1.0 (SAP1). The optional PID parameters are:

    • authfull (first author's full name)
    • repnum (report number)
    • source (document source)
    • corpsrc (corporate source)

    This information applies only to those who select "OpenURL 0.1" for the In-house Link URL format option. CAS Full Text Options supports "OpenURL 0.1" as described in the Forward (v-xi), of The OpenURL Framework for Context-Sensitive Services, ANSI/NISO Z39.88-2004 (R2010). The Foreword is not part of ANSI/NISO Z39.88-2004 (R2010), but included for information only.

    The Service Identifier parameter (SID) will contain one of the following values, consisting of the vendor and database name, depending on how CAS Full Text Options is being used:

    • CAS:< database_name >
    • STN:< database_name >

    This information applies only to those who select URL Format "CAS Proprietary" format for the In-house Link.

    Parameters provided for journal and non-patent documents include:

     ISSN,  ISBN, volume, issue, CODEN, ID, year, firstpage,  journal (title), title (article), aulast,  aufirst,  auinit,  auinit1, auinitm, author, repnum (report number),  source (document source),  corpsrc (corporate source)

    Parameters provided in patent documents include:

     genre,  CC (country code),  number,  kind,  date,  inventor,  invlast,   invfirst,  ptitle, title,  applcc (application country code),   applnumber,     applyear,   appldate
