Bio
Tristan Clemons is an Assistant Professor at the School of Polymer Science and Engineering at the University of Southern Mississippi, where he leads the Clemons Lab focused on polymeric biomaterials for tissue regeneration and drug delivery applications. Originally from Australia, Tristan completed his Ph.D. at the University of Western Australia before undertaking research positions in both Australia and the United States, including postdoctoral training at Northwestern University.
Alongside his research team experience, Tristan has also worked in a number of different teams, including representing Australia and the United States internationally in field hockey, has served as an international coach and mentor within elite athlete development pathways, won an Emmy Award for Olympic Games coverage, and is a marriage celebrant, entrepreneur, husband, and father. His multidisciplinary career reflects a unique combination of scientific innovation, leadership, entrepreneurship, high-performance sport, and mentorship.
