Humphrey earned his Bachelor of Science degree in industrial chemistry from Federal University Wukari, Nigeria. As an undergraduate, he conducted research on the photocatalytic degradation of methylene blue using bismuth tungstate. He is currently pursuing his doctoral degree in chemistry at Emory University under the supervision of Dr. Michael Heaven, where his work focuses on using ab initio computational methods to characterize actinide bonding. He is committed to leadership and community development and has received several recognitions, including the Leadership Development Award from the Younger Chemists Committee of the American Chemical Society and IUPAC Bursary for African Emergent Researcher.
