Carla is a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Postdoctoral Fellow at the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV, Spain), specializing in photochemistry and photobiology. Her research focuses on developing theranostic fluorescence-based nanosystems for women’s health, particularly breast and ovarian cancer, and endometriosis. She holds a B.S. and M.S. in chemistry from the Universitat Jaume I (UJI, Spain) and a Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of East Anglia (UEA, UK). She received the Best Ph.D. Thesis Award from the European Society for Photobiology. Carla has also conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Maryland (UMD, US) focused on nanoparticle-based photodynamic therapy of cancer.
