Ty Henkaline helps lead a team of scientists and AI engineers building the technology that lets all scientists and their agentic tools make the most of the world's most comprehensive collection of expertly curated scientific information. He is a rare visionary, strategist, and operator who works ahead of the curve, builds and enhances the team, and writes and deploys code. He has stood up and led data science and AI functions for companies at the edge of emerging technology, most recently as AI Expert and CTO at Singularity University, the Bay Area think tank founded years ahead of consensus to prepare the world for the AI revolution. The same pattern marks his own work: a patented neuroadaptive VR system later acquired, an R package that opened IBM Watson to data scientists, and responsible AI curricula taught worldwide. He holds a Master of Applied Statistics and an M.A. in Clinical Psychology from The Ohio State University, with doctoral coursework in clinical and quantitative psychology, and a B.A. in Psychology from Ball State University.
