Knowing when changes are coming in CAS SciFinder is important to you. To help ensure you are prepared to handle questions you may receive from your users when changes occur, we will provide a preview version of the latest release notes below.
Notes will be posted approximately one week prior to each release, which are scheduled every four weeks. Occasionally a change may not be included in this preview or actually be released since they are posted before the release is finalized. As always, final release notes will be added to the What’s New? section in the CAS SciFinder solution in conjunction with the actual release.
Retrosynthesis plans are now available through CAS Newton. When a query is identified as having synthetic route planning intent, CAS Newton automatically surfaces a retrosynthesis plan to the user. The retrosynthesis plan in CAS Newton presents the following:
Plan viewer – Users can open a dedicated viewer to explore the full retrosynthesis plan
CAS SciFinder navigation – Users can jump directly from the plan viewer into CAS SciFinder for deeper exploration
Table Generation
CAS Newton can now compare and organize scientific data across hundreds of entities - substances, suppliers, patents, reactions - and lay it out in a clean, ready-to-use table. No manual copy-paste, no stitching results together from a dozen searches. Users can describe the columns they want and CAS Newton builds the table and pulls the data into it.

IP Connections: Facet References by Priority Date
IP Connections is being improved with the ability to narrow reference results by priority date. Specifying a date in the past restricts results to patents witha priority date before the selected date. Priority Date is also now available in reference exports.
Additionally, users with IP Mode selected will see the Priority Date directly on reference result tiles.
SVG Download in Retrosynthesis
Users can now download retrosynthesis plans in SVG format for offline use.
