CAS SciFinder® enhancements

Knowing when changes are coming in CAS SciFinder is important to you. To help ensure you are prepared to handle questions you may receive from your users when changes occur, we will provide a preview version of the latest release notes below.

Notes will be posted approximately one week prior to each release, which are scheduled every four weeks. Occasionally a change may not be included in this preview or actually be released since they are posted before the release is finalized. As always, final release notes will be added to the What’s New? section in the CAS SciFinder solution in conjunction with the actual release.

Search Enhancement: Tips & Tricks for Advanced Search

Advanced search is easier to use with a new Tips & Tricks panel, providing contextual information with detailed field descriptions, example queries, and search behavior nuances, giving users the guidance they need without leaving their workflow.

Search Enhancement: Identify Concepts in Query Interpretation

SearchSense in CAS SciFinder is being enhanced to provide greater visibility into controlled terms identified from users' queries and offer tools to navigate the hierarchy of controlled vocabulary. From the results page, a Query Interpretation is presented:

Users can review the identified controlled term in the Lexicon for more information.

Alert Enhancement: Include Query with Notification

Alert notification emails are being enhanced to include the alert query, ensuring users have necessary context to review the new results.

IP Connections: Export Visualizations in PNG, PPT

Result set visualizations in CAS SciFinder have been enhanced with options to export in PNG and PPT formats, providing more opportunities for users to present data found in CAS SciFinder.

CAS Newton

Users can now navigate to substance and supplier information directly from retrosynthesis plans in CAS Newton.
