Bio
Naum holds a Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Science from The Ohio State University and a Master's in Applied Data Science from Syracuse University. He began his career as an Information Scientist at CAS, advancing to a management position overseeing the scientific information analysis group.
In 2015, Naum transitioned to Information Technology, ensuring data governance, platform development, and enterprise data efforts aligned with critical business needs, including the development of SciFinderⁿ.
Following his master's program, Naum specialized in developing sophisticated ML and deep learning models within the domains of Natural Language Processing (NLP) and computer vision. This expertise is applied to solving complex, data-driven problems and extracting actionable insights from vast datasets.
Naum is currently focused on agentic AI, building autonomous systems that intelligently interact with dynamic environments. A key aspect of this work involves exploring the capabilities of these agents to utilize specialized tools—bridging the gap between technical AI advancements and real-world scientific applications to help scientists accelerate breakthroughs in chemistry.
