Rare Diseases, Spotlighting Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, Huntington's Disease, and Myasthenia Gravis: Insights from Landscape Analysis of Current Research.
Rare diseases collectively affect a significant portion of the global population despite the individual rarity of each condition, with roughly 10,000 known rare diseases—80% of them genetic in origin. This review analyzes data from the CAS Content Collection to map the publication landscape, trace the evolution of key concepts, and examine genetic associations, emerging technologies, and treatment development pipelines across the rare disease space. Special focus is given to three specific conditions: amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, Huntington's disease, and myasthenia gravis.
