Racchana Ramamurthy

Racchana is a Ph.D. candidate and Vanier Scholar at McGill University in Prof. Jinxia Liu’s group. Her work bridges analytical chemistry and environmental science to address emerging contaminants. Her research focuses on developing advanced analytical methods to characterize polymeric per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) and elucidate their contribution to unidentified organofluorines in the environment. Racchana holds an Erasmus Mundus M.Sc. in environmental technology and engineering from Ghent University (Belgium), IHE Delft Institute for Water Education (Netherlands), and the University of Chemistry and Technology (Czech Republic). Beyond research, she is passionate about STEM outreach and advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion in the chemical sciences.
