Bio
David Fleig turns language into scientific insight. As Lead AI Scientist for CAS SciFinder, he leads AI development on one of the world's premier scientific research platforms — building machine learning, NLP, and knowledge-graph solutions that expand what researchers can discover and how fast they can get there. His signature focus is literature-based discovery: finding connections across the scientific record that no single researcher could surface alone. Beyond his work at CAS, he teaches computer science as adjunct faculty at Franklin University and the University of Wisconsin–Green Bay. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science with a research concentration in NLP and literature-based discovery, along with graduate and undergraduate degrees spanning four disciplines.
