Daniel completed his bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering at the University of Rochester in Rochester, NY in 2020. While there, he led a project on shape-memory elastomers in Professor Mitchell Anthamatten’s lab. He then moved to Minneapolis, MN to begin his Ph.D. in chemical engineering. Working under Professor Marc Hillmyer, Daniel developed block polymers rich in poly(L-lactide) as sustainable plastics. Since graduating in 2025, he is now a postdoctoral associate at MIT working for Professors Zachary Smith and Tim Swager, focusing on microporous polymers for CO2 capture. Following his postdoc, Daniel is seeking industrial polymer science roles in the Boston area.
