Adrián de la Fuente Ballesteros
Adrián is a postdoctoral researcher in analytical chemistry. His research focuses on the development and validation of novel analytical methodologies for the determination of analytes in food and environmental matrices. He has worked with bioactive compounds, alkaloids, plasticizers, and volatile organic compounds, and has extensive experience in the analysis of pesticide residues in bee products using chromatographic techniques. Moreover, he specializes in integrating sustainability into analytical workflows through the design and application of assessment tools and metrics aligned with the principles of White Analytical Chemistry, aiming to promote greener, innovative, and practical methods. Throughout his career, he has built a strong research track record with 40+ publications, 70+ conference presentations, 2 book chapters, 2 patents, and international collaborations. In addition, he has a background in chemical education, generative artificial intelligence, and scientific communication, including the design of educational resources and teaching experience at the university level. Adrián is also an active peer-reviewer and serves on the editorial boards of high-impact journals. His contributions to the field have been recognized with several awards, such as the IMFAHE Excellence Fellowship, EuChemS Young Chemists’ Finalist Award, National Youth Science Award, University Commitment Award, and the Erasmus+ Quality Projects distinction. He is part of the Nova Talent Network, which brings together the top 3% of global young talent.
