Learn more about Maggie Horst

Maggie is a protein biochemist and polymer chemist who uses macromolecular design as a method to better understand biophysics and control reactivity. Currently, Maggie researches de novo protein design with Prof. William DeGrado at the University of California, San Francisco as an NIH Ruth Kirschstein postdoctoral fellow. Maggie grew up in North Carolina and received a B.S. from Duke University after studying with Profs. Katherine Franz and Stephen Craig. Maggie earned a Ph.D. in chemistry from Stanford University under the mentorship of Prof. Yan Xia, exploring the relationship between molecular structure and force-coupled reactivity.
