Bio
Dan Bailey graduated from Brown University in 2009 with dual bachelor’s degrees in chemistry and anthropology. He joined the Process Chemistry group at Takeda Pharmaceuticals in 2009. During his time in Takeda Process Chemistry, he co-founded a green chemistry program in 2017 and was awarded the 2020 Peter Dunn Award for Green Chemistry Impact in the Pharmaceutical Industry. In 2022, Dan moved to Takeda’s Pharmaceutical Sciences Sustainability & Technology group where he is currently an Associate Scientific Fellow. He leads the Pharmaceutical Sciences Sustainability by Design program where his work focuses on minimizing the environmental footprint of Takeda’s products by engaging with scientists and engineers as they design new products and manufacturing processes. He also serves as the Takeda representative on the ACS GCI Pharmaceutical Roundtable.
