Guanyu Lu

Guanyu is the inaugural Sir Fraser Stoddart Postdoctoral Fellow at Northwestern University, working with Prof. Dayne F. Swearer. He earned his Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from Vanderbilt University under Prof. Joshua D. Caldwell. His research focuses on engineering nanoscale light–matter interactions to control light, heat, and chemistry for applications in energy and sustainability. He develops nanophotonic materials and devices for thermal management, chemical sensing, and light-driven chemical transformation. Guanyu has been recognized as a Foresight Fellow and a Rising Star in Materials Science and Engineering, and serves on the Early Career Professionals Subcommittee of the Materials Research Society.
