AI Discovery: AEO Analytics in Analyze
What the AI discovery tab reports: prompt insights, LLM bot activity, and how AI referred visitors behave on CAS.org.
AEO analytics is the measurement layer for answer engine optimization, and it is enabled on CAS.org. It answers a question traditional analytics cannot: what AI tools say about CAS, and what happens when they send someone to the site.
Where to Find It
Open the AI discovery tab, available on both the Site overview and Pages views. The page level version answers whether a specific page is being found and cited.
The Three Perspectives
Prompt insights
How AI tools represent CAS in their answers. This is closer to brand monitoring than to traffic reporting. It shows how the site content is being summarized, which is often different from how it was written.
LLM bot insights
Which AI crawlers visit the site, and what they access. Bot activity is a leading indicator: content has to be crawled before it can be cited.
AI referred visitor analytics
How visitors arriving from AI tools behave once they reach the site. These visitors often arrive with a specific question already formed, so their behavior can differ from search traffic.
How to Read It
- Start with bot activity. If AI crawlers are not reaching a section, nothing downstream can improve.
- Compare AI referred behavior to other sources. Different bounce and engagement patterns are normal and worth understanding rather than correcting.
- Read prompt insights as feedback on the content. If AI tools describe a solution inaccurately, the page probably states the point less plainly than it should.
- Expect small numbers at first. AI referred traffic is usually a small share of the total. Watch the direction rather than the volume.
AEO Agents
Webflow AEO also includes AEO agents, which surface prioritized recommendations for helping AI tools discover and cite site content. Treat these as suggestions to evaluate against CAS content standards, not as instructions to apply directly. Anything affecting published copy goes through the normal content review.
What This Does Not Replace
AI discovery reporting sits alongside conventional search work rather than replacing it. Clear page structure, accurate metadata, and answerable headings help both. See SEO and URL Management.
Access
AEO analytics depends on the site plan and the Analyze add-on, so it is not part of every Webflow setup. On CAS.org it is active. Viewing it needs the same review permission as the rest of Analyze. See Who Can Access Analyze.
