Wilian Cortopassi (2016)

Wilian received his B.Sc. degree in 2013 at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and then joined the group of Prof. Robert Paton at Oxford University. During his undergraduate studies, Wilian was selected for the Residential Chemistry Training Experience at GlaxoSmithKline, Stevenage, United Kingdom. His current research focuses on unravelling the enzymatic mechanism of demethylation and the development of selective inhibitors for bromodomains. In 2016, Wilian received a Scholarship for Scientific Excellence from the Chemical Information Division of the American Chemical Society based on his graduate work.
