Fernando got his B.Sc. in chemistry from the University of Zaragoza (Spain) and then got his M.Sc. in organic chemistry from the University Pierre and Marie Curie (Paris, France). He is currently doing a Ph.D. at the Instituto de Síntesis Química y Catálisis Homogénea (ISQCH, CSIC-UZ) under the direction of professors P. Merino and T. Tejero. Fernando’s research is focused on asymmetric organic synthesis using sugars as chiral-pool starting materials towards the production of fungical transglycosidase inhibitors.
