Process for creating a new website section

This document outlines the process for creating a new area of the website, including new slugs, new pages, and all the steps from project brief to launch.

1. Project Brief

  • 1.1 Initiation: The process begins with a project brief submitted by the Marketing team. This brief should include:
    • Project Title: A clear and concise name for the new website area.
    • Project Goals: What are the objectives of this new area? What should it achieve?
    • Target Audience: Who is this new area for? What are their needs and expectations?
    • Content Outline: A preliminary outline of the pages and content required.
    • URL Structure: Proposed URL slugs for the main pages and subpages.
    • Design Considerations: Any specific design requirements or preferences.
    • Technical Requirements: Any specific technical requirements (e.g., integrations, functionality).
    • Timeline: Proposed timeline for the project, including key milestones.
    • Budget: Estimated budget for the project.
    • Key Stakeholders: List of individuals or teams involved in the project.

2. Project Kick-off Meeting

  • 2.1 Meeting Purpose: A kick-off meeting will be scheduled with the Marketing team, Webflow Developers, and any other relevant stakeholders to discuss the project brief in detail.
  • 2.2 Meeting Agenda: The meeting agenda will include:
    • Review of the project brief.
    • Discussion of project goals, target audience, and content outline.
    • Confirmation of URL structure and information architecture.
    • Brainstorming of design concepts and technical feasibility.
    • Definition of project scope and deliverables.
    • Establishment of a detailed project timeline and milestones.
    • Allocation of roles and responsibilities.
    • Discussion of communication and feedback processes.
    • Identification of potential risks and challenges.
    • Agreement on project success metrics.

3. Design and Content Development

  • 3.1 Content Creation: The Marketing team will be responsible for creating the content for the new website area, adhering to brand guidelines and SEO best practices.
  • 3.2 Design Development: Webflow Developers will work on the design and layout of the new website area in Webflow, based on the approved design concepts and content outline. This includes:
    • Creating wireframes and mockups.
    • Building the page structure and navigation.
    • Implementing responsive design for different devices.
    • Ensuring accessibility and usability.

4. Webflow Development

  • 4.1 Page Building: Webflow Developers will build the pages in Webflow, ensuring they are:
    • Properly structured
    • Easy to navigate
    • Visually appealing
    • SEO-friendly
  • 4.2 Collection Setup (if applicable): If the new website area includes dynamic content, Webflow Developers will set up the necessary Collections and ensure they are properly integrated with the pages.
  • 4.3 Functionality Implementation: Webflow Developers will implement any required functionality, such as forms, integrations, or interactive elements.

5. Review and Approval

  • 5.1 Internal Review: The Webflow Developers will conduct an internal review of the new website area to ensure it meets all technical and design requirements.
  • 5.2 Marketing Review: The Marketing team will review the new website area to ensure the content is accurate, engaging, and aligned with the project goals.
  • 5.3 Stakeholder Approval: The final version of the new website area will be presented to key stakeholders for approval. Any feedback will be addressed and incorporated as needed.

6. Launch and Post-Launch

  • 6.1 Launch: Once the new website area is approved, the Webflow Developers will publish it to the live website.
  • 6.2 Testing: After launch, thorough testing will be conducted to ensure all pages, links, and functionality are working correctly.
