Creating a Query Summary for a Definitive Record of Search History

Available with STN Express, Version 8.4 and higher

You can easily create a separate file summarizing your search history, including relevant structure and sequence queries.  This gives you a definitive and convenient record of what you searched.

To create a query summary:

  1. Conduct the search you wish to include in the summary.
  2. The Query Summary will be created from the physically last full history display in your session. To display this information, enter one of the following commands:

    DISPLAY HISTORY FULL
    DISPLAY HISTORY NOF

If you want to always include complete session history information in your transcripts, enter SET LHIS ON PERM.  This will run DISPLAY HISTORY NOF each time you log off STN.

  3. Select Query > Create Query Summary File.  You can do this during your online session or offline thereafter.

    history1

  4. Specify the transcript (if offline), output file format (*.pdf or *rtf ), and file name.  Click Save.
