Discover! Wizards

Available in STN Express, Version 6.0 and higher for Windows


View the Discover! options...

Click the Discover! button. You will be given options to select a database, search for information, display your answers, and more. When Select a Database is chosen, a list of the most current databases you searched (up to 10) is displayed. Or, you can select from a list of all STN databases.

Use Discover! for help with basic searching...

In this example, we have entered the CAplus database, clicked the Discover! button, then selected Search by, Author Name. But, you may also select many other options.

Use Discover! to help find chemical substance information...

Searching for chemical substance information is easy with Discover!. The PROMT database contains CAS Registry Numbers. When you click on the CAS Registry Number, a menu appears that lets you find chemical suppliers, regulatory information, and property data. You can even locate available spectra data.

Use Discover! to locate spectra data...

In this example, we clicked on Carbon NMR in the menu. Discover! automatically searches the SPECINFO database and retrieves the appropriate spectra data for the substance.
