Compatibility View

When Microsoft Internet Explorer 8 was released on March 19, inoperability issues between SciFinder and this new browser were uncovered.  Customers were advised to use Internet Explorer 8's built-in Compatibility View feature.

Compatibility View is now automatically enabled when you sign in to SciFinder using Internet Explorer 8.  You no longer need to enable it manually.

If you previously turned on Compatibility View to use SciFinder with Internet Explorer 8, you may now turn it off.

How to disable Compatibility View:

  1. Close all browser windows and then restart Internet Explorer 8.
  2. Select Tools > Compatibility View Settings.
    IE 8 Tools Menu
  3. In the Websites you've added to Compatibility View box, select cas.org (or scifinder.cas.org) and click Remove.
    IE 8 Compatibility View Settings
  4. Click Close to save and exit the window.
  5. Exit and restart Internet Explorer 8.

Printing Reference Details

If you print a Reference Detail when using Compatibility View, some content will be missing.  First, export your answer set as a .pdf or .rtf file.  Then print the exported file.
