How to... Analyze Reference Answer Sets
Web Version of SciFinder
Analyze is one of the many SciFinder tools that allow you to explore, evaluate, and review your reference answer sets. You can view trends in research as well as identify primary researchers and organizations within a subject area.

When references are displayed in your main SciFinder window, an analysis of your answer set appears in the right sidebar.
Analyze by Author Name is the default, and the first 10 analysis bars are displayed. Each bar represents a subset of the answer set.
Note: For answer sets with more than 1,000 references, a sample analysis is initially performed. To conduct the full analysis, click Full Analysis.
In a Full Analysis, the number to the right is the number of answers in that subset. |

(Optional) To change the analysis category, select another option from the drop-down menu and click Apply. |

A filtered answer set displays in the main SciFinder window. The answer set is unchanged. All answers that do not meet the specified analysis criteria are removed from the display only.
In the Analysis sidebar (see above), a second shading color indicates the number of answers associated with the analysis, as compared to the preliminary analysis. |

Review your answers.
To restore the display to the complete non-filtered answer set, click View All. |
