How to... Access Full Text

SciFinder makes linking to full-text documents quick and easy. Link directly to:

  • Journal articles at publisher web sites (requires separate subscription)
  • Patents at USPTO and EPO (esp@cenet) web sites
  • Your organization's library resources (requires setup by the site administrator)
  • Document delivery services

1.

Locate a document of interest in your main SciFinder window. Click the full text button to the right of the title.

Tips

To request multiple documents at once, click the check box for each document. Then click the Full Text button on the toolbar:

 You can also request full text by clicking the full text icon within the document details window.

Documents are requested via the ChemPort ConnectionSM.

Note: Depending on the settings your site administrator has chosen, your subscription access, and availability of the document, you will link to either:

  • Full-text document
  • Your organization's library resources
  • ChemPort Connection page, which lists all of your options

Note: If ChemPort does not offer all of the linking options mentioned above, they may have been disabled by your site administrator.
