The SciFinder Scholar 2007 for Mac OS X Leopard (10.5) software (sfs2007a.dmg), released in May 2008 is a re-coded version that will run on Leopard (Mac OS 10.5) without using Rosetta.
This software is also backward compatible with OS 10.3 and 10.4.
Upgrading to SciFinder Scholar 2007 for Mac OS X Leopard (10.5)
- Download the installer sfs2007a.dmg to your Mac. The new installer may be available from your institution's SciFinder Scholar Intranet Page, or contact your Site Administrator or Library for assistance.
- Run sfs2007a.dmg. (On some systems, it will autorun on download. If not, double-click sfs2007a.dmg.)
- Drag SciFinder Scholar 2007a (the application package on the white "button" in the installer window) into your Applications folder.
- Drag SciFinder Scholar 2007 (the original release application package) into the Trash.
- Close the installer window and drag the desktop icon to the Trash. sfs2007a.dmg may also be dragged into the Trash.
- (Optional) Create a Dock or Desktop alias.
New Installation of SciFinder Scholar 2007 for Mac OS X Leopard (10.5)
- Download the installer sf2007a.dmg to your Mac. The new installer may be available from your institution's SciFinder Scholar Intranet Page, or contact your Site Administrator or Library for assistance.

- Drag SciFinder Scholar 2007a (the application package on the white "button" in the installer window) into your Applications folder.

- Add your institution's site.prf file to your Mac. This must be competed in order for SciFinder Scholar to connect to the SciFinder Servers (more information).
- (Optional) Create a Dock or Desktop alias.
