Special Academic Pricing for CA
For many years, the printed CA and indexes have been offered to qualifying academic subscribers at a special academic rate. The 2008 grant rate for full-service CA (issues and indexes) is $27,180. Shipping and handling charges apply.
CAS Small College Program Smaller institutions in the U.S. and Canada that offer only undergraduate degrees in chemical and related disciplines can save on their CA subscriptions in proportion to the size of their enrollments. For the full-service CA, including issues and indexes, colleges with 4,999 or fewer students receive discounts ranging from 41% to 80% in 2008. Special prices also apply to CA (Issues Only) for institutions with fewer than 2,999 students.
CA Student Edition is designed for undergraduate chemistry students to become familiar with the chemical literature. The database is available in FirstSearch, an OCLC information service available in more than 14,500 libraries worldwide. By providing convenient, easy-to-use access to electronic CA information, FirstSearch CA Student Edition complements printed CA.
CA Student Edition covers the variety of chemistry disciplines to which undergraduate chemistry students are likely to be exposed including chemical engineering, biochemistry, applied, general, macromolecular, organic, physical, and analytical chemistry.
The selection of journals that make up CA Student Edition was chosen to be representative of CA as a whole. CA Student Edition contains leading chemistry journals which are among those most often referenced by CA. Currently, the database covers a total of 316 journals, including those published by the American Chemical Society (ACS), all journals recommended by the ACS Committee for Professional Training, and others suggested by academic users of CAS databases.
Updated weekly, the CA Student Edition database contains more than 3.5 million records with bibliographic, indexing and abstract information, and 300,000 dissertations since 1967. CA Student Edition, available on an annual subscription basis, is priced to enable libraries to offer a tailored version of CA to their undergraduates. A special rate is available to all CA subscribers.
