Preferences for Visualization Workspace

To edit preferences for visualization workspace:

  1. From the Main Menu, select Tools > Preferences.

    The Preferences editor displays.

  2. Click the Visualization Workspace group in the left frame to edit its preferences.

    Edit this preference: To change:
    Visualization Workspace

    Chart colors

    Color theme for Research Landscape and charts in the current visualization project.

    Default: Desert brown

    Highlighting: If highlight set colors (including unhighlight and overlap):

    • Have not been manually overridden, the theme also controls the highlight set colors.
    • Have been manually overridden, the theme does not control the highlight set colors within the current visualization.

    Update takes effect when: You click OK on the Preferences editor.

    Chart Collection for New Projects

    Collection of charts that displays initially when a visualization is complete.

    Options:

    • Default (default):  Includes Research Landscape, Documents viewer, Key Organizations/Assignees, and Key Researchers by Publication Year Trends
    • Custom: The chart collection of the current visualization, used for new visualizations

      Note: Be sure to define a custom chart collection using Tools > Custom Collection... before selecting the Custom chart collection option in Preferences. If you select the Custom option in Preferences before you define a custom chart collection, you will be unable to visualize an imported document set.

    Update takes effect when: New visualization project (including subset visualization) is created.

    Chart Arrangement for New Projects

    Initial arrangement of charts in the visualization workspace.

    Options:

    • Tile:  default
    • Cascade

    Update takes effect when: New visualization project (including subset visualization) is created.
