ABSTRACT:
The 4,5-diaminoshikimic acid derivs. I (R1 = optionally substituted alkyl; R2 = alkyl; R3, R4 = H or a substituent of an amino group, both R3 and R4 are not H), inhibitors of viral neuraminidase, were prepd. in a multistep process starting from an isophthalic acid. Thus, the diaminocyclohexenecarboxylic acid (tamiflu, II), was prepd in 12 steps from 1-ethylpropyl methanesulfonate and 2,6-dimethoxyphenol via the isophthalic acid diester III and benzoxazole deriv.
