ABSTRACT:
Substituted indazole-O-glucosides I, wherein R is H, acetyl; R1 is H, alkyl; R2 is H, F, Cl, OMe, alkyl; Q is CH2S, (CH2)n; n is 0-2; Z is fused bicyclyl, fused heterocyclyl, were prepd. for the treatment of diabetes and Syndrome X. A process is claimed for making a pharmaceutical compn. comprising mixing one or more title compds. in combination with a second antidiabetic agent for the prepn. of a medicament for treating a condition selected from IDDM, NIDDM, IGT, IFG, obesity, nephropathy, neuropathy, retinopathy, atherosclerosis, polycystic ovarian syndrome, hypertension, ischemia, stroke, heart disease, irritable bowel disorder, inflammation, and cataracts. Thus, glycoside II was prepd. and tested in mice as antidiabetic agent.
