ABSTRACT:
The first Suzuki reactions of unactivated secondary alkyl bromides and iodides with aryl-, heteroaryl- and alkenylboronic acids are described. The optimized catalytic system includes nickel bis(1,5-cyclooctadiene)[Ni(cod)2] (4%) and bathophenathroline (BP) (8%) in the presence of potassium tert-butoxide (1.6 equiv).
