ABSTRACT:
The present invention concerns a process for arylating or vinylating or alkynating a nucleophilic compd. More particularly, the invention concerns N-arylating nitrogen-contg. org. derivs. such N-heterocycles and amides. The arylating or vinylating or alkynating process of the invention consists of reacting a nucleophilic compd. with a compd. carrying a leaving group and is characterized in that the reaction is carried out in the presence of an effective quantity of a catalyst based on a metallic element M selected from groups (VIII), (Ib) and (IIb) of the periodic table and at least one ligand comprising at least one imine function and at least one supplemental nitrogen atom as the chelating atoms. Thus, 14.4 mg cuprous oxide (0.1 mmol), 116.8 mg trans-1,2-bis[(2-pyridylmethylene)amino]cyclohexane (0.4 mmol), 3 204 mg pyrazole (3 mmol), and 1.303 g cesium carbonate (4 mmol) were successively introduced into a 35 mL Schlenk tube that had been oven dried at 100.degree. and was fitted with a magnetic stirrer (12.times.4.5 mm) and under a nitrogen atm. The Schlenk tube was purged under vacuum then refilled with nitrogen. Bromobenzene (211 .mu.L, 2 mmol) (arylation agent) then 1.2 mL acetonitrile were are then added using syringes. The reactor was placed in an oil bath at a temp. of 82.degree. and stirred for 24 h to give 1-phenyl-1H-pyrazole (80% by wt.).
