ABSTRACT:
Novel processes for prepg. arylsulfur pentafluorides, I, wherein R1-R5 are independently H, halo, (un)substituted alkyl, (un)substituted alkanesulfonyl, (un)substituted, (un)substituted aryloxy, etc. are disclosed. Processes include reacting at least one aryl sulfur compd. with a halogen and a fluoro salt to form an arylsulfur halotetrafluoride. The arylsulfur halotetrafluoride is reacted with a fluoride source to form a target arylsulfur pentafluoride.
