Abstract:
This invention provides a process for the preparation of temozolomide. For example, 5-aminoimidazole-4-carboxamide was reacted with N-succinimidyl-N'-Me carbamate in the presence of diisopropylethylamine to obtain 5-amino-N1-Me-imidazole-1,4-dicarboxamide, followed by cyclization with a nitrite, chromatog. purification, and crystallization to give the title compound.
