CAPLUS COPYRIGHT 2009 ACS

PATENT NUMBER: WO 2009038900
TITLE: Production of cyclohexylbenzene by hydroalkylation of benzene in presence of metal and aluminosilicate molecular sieve
INVENTOR(S): Chen, Tan-Jan; Cheng, Jane C.; Helton, Terry E.; Buchanan, J. Scott
PATENT ASSIGNEE(S): Exxonmobil Chemical Patents Inc., USA
SOURCE: PCT Int. Appl., 16pp. CODEN: PIXXD2
LANGUAGE: English
ABSTRACT:
Cyclohexylbenzene is prepd. by the steps, (a) feeding benzene and hydrogen to at least one reaction zone; (b) contacting the benzene and hydrogen in said at least one reaction zone under hydroalkylation conditions with a catalyst system comprising an aluminosilicate mol. sieve having an X-ray diffraction pattern including d-spacing maxima at 12.4.+-.0.25, 6.9.+-.0.15, 3.57.+-.0.07 and 3.42.+-.0.07 Angstrom, and at least one hydrogenation metal to produce an effluent contg. cyclohexylbenzene, wherein the catalyst system has an acid-to-metal molar ratio of from 75 to 750.
