After finishing an apprenticeship at the Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (Germany), Martin studied chemistry at the TU Braunschweig (Germany) and obtained his B.Sc. degree in 2009. Afterwards, he went to study abroad at the University of Utah, Salt Lake City. Back in Germany, he received his M.Sc. in 2011 and subsequently started Ph.D. studies in the workgroup of Prof. Bröring at the Institute of Inorganic and Analytical Chemistry of TU Braunschweig. Martin’s research, situated in the field of bioinorganic chemistry, is focused on non-natural cofactors for heme proteins.
