Molecule of the Week
Regarding this week’s selected substance:
Tamoxifen, a trans-isomer of a Taxol derivative, has been the key drug for treating breast cancer for decades. It selectively blocks the estrogen receptor, making it effective in treating diseases, such as breast cancer, where estrogen controls cell behavior.
CAS, Chemical Abstracts Service, has a variety of electronic
products that deliver the most recent information, as well as earlier
research back to the beginning of the twentieth century.
SciFinder® was used to locate this record in the CAS REGISTRYSM database, the world's largest substance database, with over organic and inorganic substances and more than sequences.
Clicking on the Microscope icon provides details of the research articles of interest.
For more information on SciFinder or other CAS information products, go to the CAS Products page.
