Molecule of the Week
Regarding this week’s selected substance:
Polyvinyl alcohol, made by the removal of acetate groups from polyvinyl acetate, is a polymer used in a tremendous variety of products from forming a vapor barrier in 2 liter soda bottles, to a thickening agent in shampoos, to the polymer kids slime.
CAS, Chemical Abstracts Service, has a variety of electronic
products that deliver the most recent information, as well as earlier
research back to the beginning of the twentieth century.
SciFinder® was used to locate this record in the CAS REGISTRYSM database, the world's largest substance database, with over organic and inorganic substances and more than sequences.
Clicking on the Microscope icon provides details of the research articles of interest.
