Molecule of the Week
Regarding this week’s selected substance:
Hydrogen peroxide, found in medicine cabinets around the world, is a powerful oxidizing agent. On human skin, an enzyme unlocks the oxidizing potential allowing it to kill germs. Hydrogen peroxide is one of the reactants in glow sticks. Other types of peroxides are used in color safe bleach and even rocket fuels.
CAS, Chemical Abstracts Service, has a variety of electronic
products that deliver the most recent information, as well as earlier
research back to the beginning of the twentieth century.
SciFinder® was used to locate this record in the CAS REGISTRYSM database, the world's largest substance database, with over organic and inorganic substances and more than sequences.
Clicking on the Microscope icon provides details of the research articles of interest.
