Molecule of the Week
Regarding this week’s selected substance:
Acetylene is the simplest of all the alkyne hydrocarbons, all of which contain triple bonds between two carbon atoms. Acetylene is used for synthesis of other chemicals and as a fuel for welding where an acetylene oxygen flame can reach 3200 F.
CAS, Chemical Abstracts Service, has a variety of electronic
products that deliver the most recent information, as well as earlier
research back to the beginning of the twentieth century.
SciFinder® was used to locate this record in the CAS REGISTRYSM database, the world's largest substance database, with over organic and inorganic substances and more than sequences.
Clicking on the Microscope icon provides details of the research articles of interest.
