Query Sequence Length Bar |
A bar or linear "map" the same length as the query (input) sequence. Tick mark numbers show the position of the correspondence between the query sequence and the subject (similar) sequences. |
||||||||||||
Sequence Bars |
A group of colored bars, each representing a result sequence and showing the position(s) at which the result sequence is similar to the input sequence. Sequence bars show their score range by color, according to the alignment scores color key. The most similar hits are uppermost. A hash pattern (not shown here) indicates a gap in similarity between two or more distinct regions of similarity within the same sequence hit. To see the sequence name associated with a bar:

Sequence Name |
Text area that displays the chemical
name of the sequence. To display the sequence name, position the
mouse over the sequence bar.
Updating sequence names: If a sequence name is now assigned to a sequence that was previously listed as "Index name not yet assigned," the report is updated with the new name at this time. |

Descriptions are sorted by increasing E value, with the most significant alignments (lowest E values) at the top. |

Score |
Applies to this pair alignment. |

Expect |
E value for this pair alignment. |
||||||||||||
Identities |
Extent to which the query and subject sequences do not vary. Applies to this pair alignment only. Caution: Percent Identity would provide information on the relationship between the subject sequence and your query sequence only if the HSP were to cover the entire length of both sequences. |

Positives |
Sum of identities and conserved residues. Applies to this pair alignment. |
