CAS President's Anniversary Message

cas100e_massieIn 2007, CAS celebrated one hundred years of service to world science as an integral part of the American Chemical Society. That is a century in pursuit of a single mission--to provide access to chemical and related information that speeds and enables scientific discovery to improve peoples lives. 100th Anniv Graphic

Many generations of scientists, information professionals, educators, and students have known and relied upon our services, from the printed Chemical Abstracts to the efficient electronic research tools, STN and SciFinder. They have not only learned from the treasury of knowledge in CAS databases, but have also used this foundation to inspire new insights and discoveries of their own. And those discoveries, when published, in turn became part of our permanent, public, record. This cycle of achievement will continue, as CAS looks back with pride, and forward with renewed commitment.

We would like to thank researchers around the world, past and present, for using CAS' services to advance world science; and I would like to thank our colleagues for their dedication to CAS' continuing mission as we embark on our next 100 years.
